But breath serves us in a much deeper way than mere survival. Breath is the conscious bridge between our mind and body, and crossing this bridge with intention can lead us to deep understanding and profound change.
Drawing from the ancient Indian science of Pranayama, in this workshop we will explore a variety of pranayama techniques–from calm and quiet, to vigorous and powerful–to infuse the body and mind with an overall sense of vitality, well-being, and peace. You will also explore the history, philosophy, power of mantra, shatkarma (body purification), nadis (energetic channels), a variety of pranayama techniques, and siddha traditional meditation. Take home with you a deep experience of, and insight into, the elegant and simple power of the breath–truly, our most potent tool for positive transformation.

Ashtanga Vinyasa: powerful, dynamic, and disciplined. This course was designed for those who would like to have a thorough understanding of the practice and for those who wish to develop a safe and intuitive daily yoga practice. This course is suitable for practitioners of all levels as it will be adapted to suit your ability and prior knowledge of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The course will provide you with all the fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga: history, philosophy, the sequence, science behind the sequence, breath, bandhas, vinyasa, and drishtis. Alignment, adjustment, and pranayama classes will run alongside Led Classes for you to gain complete confidence with the Primary Series. You will also have the opportunity to take part in technical Workshops that will focus on key areas such as Hip Opening, back bending and Floating techniques which will dramatically influence your Ashtanga Vinyasa practice.

A well designed yoga sequence can be considered both an art and a science. The methodology we will explore includes a unique sequencing template that makes sequencing easy to implement, practice and teach. You will learn how to:
• Use this unique template to simplify creating and remembering sequences
• Use poses and counter poses to make sequencing simple and effective promoting healthy muscle growth, flexibility and stamina
• Sequence peak poses, including transitions, to make the practice accessible for all levels
• Learn how to design different sequences for different styles of yoga
• You will begin to identify your own personal style
• This workshop will give you the tools to create sequences that feel amazing in the body and on the mind and will effectively allow the healing qualities of yoga to shine through
